Thank you everyone for a fantastic festive season especially to all our customers who turned up to the markets and sorry there is no time for a chat at these busy ones.

2016 seems to be in full swing, Jerusalam Degus (the hire bull) has returned home to Middleton in Teesdale for a once over before heading off to a new herd. The calves born last summer are growing well. They are inside now as the wet weather made feeding them outside too difficult , they were looking out in amazement at the snow this morning.

The bulk of our time is spent trying to keep the animals as happy as possible to get them through this weather in good condition. This takes a lot of time and effort so I seem to be continually cooking to keep everyone fuelled up ready for action.

Not sure whether it’s my age or the mud but this year the longer days and spring bulbs can’t come soon enough. Maybe we just need a week in the sun, shame we didn’t buy a lottery ticket last weekend……………
